Generate a list of recent broker contacts

Datafiniti property data can help you discover brokers in your area. This data can be used to look up other listings from the same broker(s), to cross reference with our people database, or generate leads for your company. In this guide we will show you how to retrieve this data.

Searching for most recent brokers in your area

For the following query we will build the logic on the following parameters:

  • Province of interest (For this example we will use Florida)
  • Setting a data range based on mostRecentStatusFirstDateSeen
    • This will guarantee the following statuses fall within this range.
  • Get the most recent status
  • Guarantee the property is not owned by a company using currentOwnerType
  • Guarantee the broker's contact data is there using mostRecentBrokerEmails OR mostRecentBrokerPhones
{
	"query":"province:FL AND mostRecentStatusFirstDateSeen:[2023-09-01 TO 2023-09-30] AND propertyType:\"Single Family Dwelling\" AND mostRecentStatus:(\"For Sale\" OR \"Sold\") AND -currentOwnerType:company AND (mostRecentBrokerEmails:* OR mostRecentBrokerPhones:*)",
	"num_records":10
}

In the result you see the mostRecentBrokers populated like the following:

{
  "mostRecentBrokerAgent": "Justin Helmet",
  "mostRecentBrokerCompany": "Sotheby's International Realty",
  "mostRecentBrokerEmails": [
                "[email protected]",
                "[email protected]"
            ],
  "mostRecentBrokerPhones": [
                "32605284160",
                "36205284165",
                "32204808813"
            ]
}

Searching for broker history in your area

Now we can modify the query to search the entire array of both brokers / listing agent data. Ensuring that you have the entire status history and listing agent history data till present day.

We will focus on using brokers.email OR brokers.phones AND people.emails OR people.phones for people with the title of agent

{
    "query":"province:FL AND mostRecentStatusFirstDateSeen:[2023-09-01 TO 2023-09-30] AND propertyType:\"Single Family Dwelling\" AND mostRecentStatus:\"For Sale\"AND -currentOwnerType:company AND brokers.emails:* OR {people.email:* AND people.title:agent}",
    "num_records":10
}

Flattening brokers and people data

In cases where you would like a most digestible format of your data, Datafiniti allows custom views. This is done by flattening specific field within the property data schema. We can achieve either by an on the fly view or using a saved customer view. More on specifics about views here. Using these API property search call you can take the previous query and flatten the results.

On the fly brokers - flattened

{
	"query":"province:FL AND mostRecentStatusFirstDateSeen:[2023-09-01 TO 2023-09-30] AND propertyType:\"Single Family Dwelling\" AND mostRecentStatus:\"For Sale\"AND -currentOwnerType:company AND brokers.emails:* OR {people.email:* AND people.title:agent}",
	"num_records":10,
	"view": [
		{"name": "address"},
		{"name": "city"},
		{"name": "province"},
		{"name": "postalCode"},
		{"name": "brokers","flatten": true, "sub_fields": [
			{"name": "agent"},
			{"name": "emails"},
			{"name": "company"},
			{"name": "dateSeen"},
			{"name": "licenseNumber"},
			{"name": "licenseType"},
			{"name": "phones"}
			]
		}
	]
}

Creating a custom brokers flatten view

This view can be created using our https://api.datafiniti.co/v4/views POST API endpoint.

{
	"name": "custom_brokers_view",
	"data_type": "property",
	"fields": [
			{"name": "address"},
			{"name": "city"},
			{"name": "province"},
			{"name": "postalCode"},
			{"name": "brokers","flatten": true, "sub_fields": [
					{"name": "agent"},
					{"name": "emails"},
					{"name": "company"},
					{"name": "dateSeen"},
					{"name": "licenseNumber"},
					{"name": "licenseType"},
					{"name": "phones"}
				]
			}
		]
}

To call your view in the search you can use the following query:

{
    "query":"province:FL AND mostRecentStatusFirstDateSeen:[2023-09-01 TO 2023-09-30] AND propertyType:\"Single Family Dwelling\" AND mostRecentStatus:\"For Sale\"AND -currentOwnerType:company AND brokers.emails:* OR {people.email:* AND people.title:agent}",
    "num_records":10,
  	"view":"custom_brokers_view",
  	"format":"csv",
  	"download":true
}
